Does tea have caffeine? This is a question that many tea lovers ask!

A question that often arises among tea lovers is whether the tea contains Caffeine or Theine. In reality, despite long-standing belief to the contrary, the substance is the same in both drinks, tea and coffee, which leads us to say that tea does indeed contain caffeine.

The name Theine, regularly associated with tea, appears as an intention to differentiate this same substance (caffeine) present in coffee and tea, however it is not entirely wrong to say that tea has caffeine instead of theine.

Note that tea corresponds to the drink that is made from the Camellia sinensis.

WHERE IS CAFFEINE FOUND?

Caffeine is popularly known for its stimulating power. It is then found naturally in the leaves, seeds and fruits of more than 60 plants. Among which the best known are:

• Tea plant Leaves, Camellia sinensis.

• Kola nut

• Coffee beans

• Cocoa beans

• Green mate herb

TEA OR COFFE! WITCH ONE HAS MORE CAFFEINE?

Although a tea leaf contains more theine than an equal proportion of coffee, the truth is that to prepare a tea less quantity is needed, which is why it has fewer stimulating active substances than a cup of coffee.

It will then be the oxidation process of the tea that will influence the increase in the caffeine content present in the tea. This is why green tea has a low concentration of caffeine, since its oxidation percentage is non-existent or almost zero.

• A cup of coffee has 60 to 120 milligrams of caffeine

• A cup of black tea has 25 to 100 milligrams of caffeine

• One cup of green tea contains 10 to 15 milligrams of caffeine

HOW DOES CAFFEINE MANIFEST IN OUR BODY?

The caffeine present in coffee acts explosively and quickly. It provides those who consume it with an almost instantaneous energy spike, preventing tiredness and drowsiness and encouraging physical activity. This effect, although instantaneous, is also short-lived. On the contrary, the caffeine present in tea has a milder but longer-lasting effect. It is recommended to speed up and sharpen all mental processes, enhance memory and increase attention levels.
